Neil O’Sullivan- Managing Partner

I started Probity & Equity having identified a gap in the market for a full service investigation and mediation company that worked as an independent body within organizations. The realization as to the need of such a company came about after constant enquiries from persons and companies known to me, if I would knew of such a body that specialized within this area.

After 29 years service in the Victoria Police Force, I retired at the rank of Detective Superintendent. Having spent my career working in a number of different fields such as setting up and operating the first Asian Crime Squad in Australia in the 1980’s to undertaking the position of Senior Lecturer at the Detective Training School.

It was in the last 15 years of my career when I became a senior ranking officer that my management, investigative and mediation experience came into their own. As Inspector in Charge of the Accident Investigation Section and Divisional Commander of ‘N’ District, Mildura I was in charge of major emergency management issues where decisions made impacted on the lives of whole townships and communities. It was my duty to as Officer-in-Charge to be in complete control of multi-agency responses and developed strategies which resulted in harm minimization to individuals and the community alike.

As Officer-in-Charge of the Professional Practices Division of the Ethical Standards Department I was responsible for the investigation and prosecution of corruption involving members of the Force and the community. As well as the development of proactive strategies to ensure the Forces policies and structures were protected against threat.

It was here that I was in command of the investigation into the matters raised under the Whistleblower Protection Act 2001 and therein became the Ethical Standards Specialist, contributing key documentation and procedures to help raise standards both internally and externally.

I have hands on commitment with all of my investigations and I believe in providing my clients with not only a conclusion but a solution.

Through the years of working in the financial industry it was my responsibility to oversee the financial analysis and due diligence of major fiscal transactions, in doing so I needed to finely develop analytical skills to establish the veracity of information provided was indeed correct and appropriated accordingly.

I have a strong commitment to personal values and believe that the answer lies in the small details and that it is the collection of fact that bring about a successful resolution.
